Some of her Exquisite Work...

She is a 63 year old Mother of 5, Grandmother of 9. I retired after 30 years as a meat wrapper for Safeway stores in Northern California. She lives in the East Bay area, 1 hour from San Francisco in Pleasant Hill, California. She has been decorating cakes since 1959 and does British style (Joseph Lambeth method) Australian, South African, Mexican and of course American. She has never stopped taking classes all these years and the past 2 years she has taken a class in pulled and blown sugar from Ewald Notter at the International school of confectionary arts in Maryland and last year sugarpaste Orchids from Nicholas Lodge at the International Sugar Arts Collection in Atlanta, Georgia.

These are photo's of my daughter Melissa and her Fiancee Rick's engagement cakes from last October. He proposed under a waterfall in Hawaii, hence the tropical theme of the cakes. The flowers are all made of sugarpaste, the waterfall is pulled sugar and the pond is poured sugar.
